Movies: Quizzes Can Also be Fun!

This activity helps with testing listening comprehension in a manner that does not make the student feel he/she is being tested. On the contrary, the student will enjoy being tested in a real-world experience. Show your students a 3-minute segment from a movie that appeals to their age group (and level).  Create a fill-in-the-blanks quiz that tests the material they are learning and play that part from the movie three times: once just for listening (while enjoying the movie!); and twice more for filling in the blanks.  This activity can also be combined with “Movies: Listening Comprehension, Conversation, Tenses” to initiate a short conversation among your students.
